Well this is the view from my flat window today........
Usually you can see everything! The London eye, the Shard, the Gherkin.....but not today! Winter is definitely approaching..... the fog, the cold temperature, the rain! For most people the plumiting temperatures are depressing, but not for me becuase the moment the weather starts to turn I can start to bring out my winter wardrobe which is by far my favourite season to dress for! The big cocooning coats, the heavy knits and the glorious boots.... winter is just way too fashionable!
I've been inspired by the A/W 2012 catwalks at London Fashion Week (Burberry Prorsum in particular) and I have scoured the great British high street to find key pieces that reflect the designer catwalk trends at purse (and student!) friendly prices. Firstly, her are a few snaps from the designer A/W 2012 catwalks for you to look at, they're beautiful!
Burberry Prorsum A/W 2012
Fendi A/W 2012
Burberry Prorsum A/W 2012
Mulberry A/W 2012
Burberry Prorsum A/W 2012
Aquascutum A/W 2012
They're fabulous, right? but slightly over my price range.... so here are a few key afforable pieces I found that will make you look gorgeous, on trend and most importantly will keep you warm this winter.
Hat £24.99 Topshop // Shall £10 Matalan // Gloves £14.99 H&M // Leggings £18 Topshop // T-shirt £14 Topshop // Boots £15 Primark
This shall is a diamond find! It perfectly reflects the English heritage trend that ran through most of the designer catwalks this season and is an absolute bargain!
The bowler hat is from Topshop and adds a touch of class and dresses up the outfit in place of a beanie.
The leather gloves are from H&M and feel amazing.... nothing says sophistication more than a pair of black leather gloves and these were seen all over the A/W catwalks (deep berry and camel tones look great too!).
The leggings are from Topshop, £18 might sound a bit pricey for leggings but trust me, these ones are worth it! They're so thick and warm, they resemble riding leggings (keeping with the hertiage trend) and look fantastic on.
Finally the boots are from Primark and an amazing buy for just £15, they also come in black but I chose the camel colour to further reflect the heritage trend and becuase it adds colour to the outfit. However, it is very likely that I will take a trip back to Primark and pick them up in black to! They're just so cute!
The shall can also be worn as a scarf (two pieces in one! Bargain!) I wore it with a black leather jacket (a staple piece for any wardrobe) perfect for shopping with friends or going out for drinks on those cold winter nights.
Scarf £7.99 H&M //
I also found this beautiful scarf in H&M, the deep red berry colour makes it the perfect scarf for this season and it adds a feminine and pretty touch to any outfit.
Parka £24.99 Primark //
I also picked up this parka from Primark, the detail on it is excellent for a such a cheap price. Its faux leather sleeves and kahki colour screams Burberry Prorsum. Most of the high street stores have made thier own copies of this coat (including Topshop and River Island) but this one is the cheapest and looks exactly the same as the others.
The parka looks great with the leather gloves.
Knitted jumper £19.99 H&M //
Finally, this heavy knit herring bone jumper from H&M is stunning! It is so warm and comfy, great for snuggling up in on the commute to work or to uni and again reflects the English heritage trend perfectly.
Here are all the pieces I bought, they will certainly be making regular apperances in my winter wardrobe and I hope it has inspired you to start looking for you key autumn/winter pieces too!
