New Rimmel primer and foundation

So here are the two latest editions to the Rimmel matte primer and foundation range!  I have had a love/ hate relationship with Rimmel products, with the hate usually being foundation products! So, I thought I would give Rimmel another chance to see if these new products would work on my annoyingly oily skin!

So, the first product to be put to the test was the Rimmel fix and protect pro primer (002).  It claims to smooth, resurface, brighten, mattify and protect in one.  Firstly, the smell of the Primer is beautiful, its very fresh and 'holiday-y' (you know what I mean).  The texture is also pleasing, it has a cooling effect on the skin and glides on beautifully.  I have to say that at first I thought it was going to be ridiculously greasy on my face but after half a minute it had absorbed into my skin leaving it feeling mattified, fresh and smooth.

I then went on to apply the new Rimmel Stay Matte liquid mousse foundation.  I do not really get on with mousse foundations, all the ones I have tried just don't seem to get on with my face!  But I was ready to give this one a try! The foundation has an air-whipped mousse texture and smells as delightful as the primer!  It applies nicely and evenly over the primer, but does not give as much coverage as I usually like (but this is purely because of my skin type).

I have been pleasantly surprised by these new Rimmel products.  They have finally made a primer and foundation that can take on my oily skin!  Even though they are not as mattifying as my current favourites from No7, they are definitely ones I will use again.  Two thumbs up Rimmel!

Have you tried any products from the new Rimmel range?
